The hide should be close to warm spot, this is what I have in my setup. I take care to place the hides so they just 'touch' the hot aura spot, and the temps inside are 24.5 on one of my babies and 21C off the shell of my other last year baby. They have freedom to choose what they like to stay in, you cant really do anything about it but you can make it attractive. They all will have slight pyramiding, they are stars after all.
As I mentioned earlier I have ceramic heater 24/7, I do not knpw it they will be fine without it but I am not inclined to experiment, as this setup works well.
I have chipped terracota pots as first choice hides. I put timothy hay in one and cypress mulch in other. Cant see the difference between those two media. But I suspect Mitha (the 2yrs old) eats her hay bit by bit, as I see it dissapears.

Taj seems to be doing well. Like you say touch wood.

He has slight pyraminding which i was concered about. I have spoken to andy he says to try the humid hide, however taj doesnt seem to interesed. Not sure what i can do about that.

What do you use for your humid hide.?
Have you got any recent pics of yours?

He seems to be fine. He does spend a lot of time behind his plant or partially buried in the orchid bark under the heater. He is eating everyday, but seems to prefer romaine lettuce. Have also been feeding him lambs lettuce and rocket. Have bought curly kale today, and he did try it.

How much should they at a day??

Yours look lovely, its funny how they all differ.
